Since the middle of 2023 the Management Committee has been actively considering what additional facilities, property repairs and refurbishment of the existing toilets is required.
This page details the work that has either been done or is planned for the near future.
On 13th March 2023 the Management Committee submitted a planning application to Stratford upon Avon District Council for the creation of a single-storey side extension to create disabled access to the existing public house and a new disabled toilet and baby changing area. The extension to be traditional construction with a pitched roof and external materials to match the existing building. A link to this application is: https://apps.stratford.gov.uk/eplanning/AppDetail.aspx?appkey=RPAGZGPMFZG00 .
The Management Committee has received many positive comments from visitors to the Yew Tree and has enhanced the facilities and generally improved the entrance area adjacent to the restaurant area.
Funding for this work was achieved by loans from members repayable over a period of 24 months.
Estimates have been obtained for the works detailed below and after careful consideration the Management Committee has decided that the funding for these works would be sought from Key Fund Investments Limited. Key Fund provided a commercial loan to assist with the purchase of the Yew Tree in 2017 and this facility will be fully repaid in January 2025.
Repayments for this further loan will be made over a period of five years.
A survey of the wooden windows at various locations at the Yew Tree identified that there are a number of windows that are in urgent need of replacement.
It is hoped that the work can be completed during the first 3 months of 2025.
